About Credo

Lebanese Association for Dialogue Development – Credo is a registered Lebanese non-profit organization, founded in 2009 and licensed by the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities under Registration No. 839.

Our mission is to promote dialogue between Christian and Muslim communities in Lebanon, to reject violence in all its forms, and to advance the shared human values that hold Lebanese society together.

We serve all people without discrimination on the basis of religion, sect, gender, ethnicity, or political affiliation.

الجمعية اللبنانية لتطوير الحوار – أومن هي جمعية لبنانية غير ربحية، تأسست عام 2009 ومرخّصة من وزارة الداخلية والبلديات بموجب علم وخبر رقم 839.

رسالتنا تعزيز الحوار بين المسيحيين والمسلمين في لبنان، ونبذ العنف بكل أشكاله، وترسيخ القيم الإنسانية المشتركة التي تجمع المجتمع اللبناني.

نخدم جميع الناس دون تمييز على أساس الدين أو الطائفة أو الجنس أو العرق أو الانتماء السياسي.

Our Objectives

Bringing together diverse perspectives within Lebanese society through seminars and conferences.

Promoting dialogue between cultures and sharing Lebanese culture abroad, so that Lebanon may serve as a regional model of multicultural and multireligious coexistence.

Organizing campaigns to assist families in material, psychological and moral need, alongside awareness campaigns aimed at protecting the family and all its members.

Building relationships and coordination with associations and institutions of shared interest, establishing intellectual and cultural cooperation that founds a culture of peace.

Supporting student encounters across all Lebanese regions, fostering understanding, openness and respect for the beliefs of others through joint activities and projects.

Working toward permanent dialogue between the Lebanese government, non-governmental organizations and civil associations, to address urgent matters of public concern.

Conducting studies and undertaking the communications and activities that contribute to achieving these objectives.

تقريب وجهات النظر المتعدّدة في المجتمع اللبناني عبر إقامة الندوات والمؤتمرات.

تعزيز الحوار بين مختلف الثقافات ونشر الثقافة اللبنانية في الخارج، لجعل لبنان نموذجاً إقليمياً للتعايش المتعدّد الثقافات والديانات.

تنظيم حملات لمساعدة العائلات المحتاجة مادياً ونفسياً ومعنوياً، وحملات توعية تهدف إلى حماية العائلة بكل أفرادها.

توطيد العلاقات والتنسيق مع الجمعيات والمؤسسات ذات الاهتمام المشترك، لإرساء تعاون فكري وحضاري يؤسّس لثقافة السلام.

دعم اللقاءات بين الطلاب في كافة المناطق اللبنانية، لفهم الآخر والانفتاح عليه واحترام معتقداته، عبر نشاطات ومشاريع مشتركة.

العمل على إقامة حوار دائم بين الحكومة اللبنانية والمنظمات غير الحكومية والجمعيات الأهلية، لمعالجة المشكلات ذات الطابع العام.

إعداد الدراسات والقيام بالاتصالات والنشاطات التي تساهم في تحقيق هذه الأهداف.

سجلّ أعمالنا | Our Track Record

بين 2012 و2016 نظّمت الجمعية ستّة مؤتمرات وطنية بالتعاون مع المركز العالمي لحوار الحضارات - لقاء، برعاية البطريرك غريغوريوس الثالث لحام.

تناولت المؤتمرات: العائلة وتحديات العصر في الشرق الأوسط · المواقع الدينية الأثرية والتاريخية في لبنان · الرحمة الإلهية · المرأة ودورها في زمن التحولات · لقاء العائلات الوطني · التطور التكنولوجي والعلمي للاتصالات.

وصدرت عن هذه الأعمال "وثيقة لقاء الربوة" في 8 تشرين الثاني 2014، وقّعها قادة روحيون ومدنيون من مختلف المكوّنات اللبنانية، دعوةً إلى وقف العنف وصون كرامة الإنسان. وقد غطّت الصحافة اللبنانية هذه المؤتمرات، وأصدرت الجمعية أعمالها في كتاب ثلاثي اللغة تضمّن رسالة البابا فرنسيس إلى مسيحيي الشرق الأوسط (21 كانون الأول 2014).

واليوم يتولّى أعضاء الجمعية زيارة العائلات مباشرة وتوزيع المساعدات الغذائية والدوائية بأنفسهم، ضمن الإمكانات المتاحة. نعمل بما نملك، ونوثّق ما نقدّم.

Between 2012 and 2016, Credo organized six national conferences with the International Center for Dialogue of Civilizations - Liqaa, under the patronage of Patriarch Gregorios III Laham.

Topics included: the family and contemporary challenges in the Middle East, religious archaeological and historical sites in Lebanon, divine mercy, women's role in times of transition, the national family gathering, and scientific and technological developments in communication.

The Rabweh Document, issued on 8 November 2014, was signed by spiritual and civic leaders from across Lebanon's communities, calling for an end to violence and the safeguarding of human dignity. The conferences received Lebanese press coverage, and Credo published their proceedings in a trilingual volume that included Pope Francis's letter to the Christians of the Middle East (21 December 2014).

Today, our members visit families directly and distribute food and medical assistance themselves, within available means. We work with what we have, and we document what we give.
